Shore Larks were therefore very high on my agenda during the last few days of the year as I found myself on the island Sylt, where they can frequently be found in salt marshes along the coast. I was quite shocked to learn that my last Northern Gannets were seen in Norway waaaaay back in 1992, some 15 years ago!
