My readers are already familiar with Beljarica Backwaters, as described in half a dozen posts here at 10,000 Birds. It all started well three decades ago, when I intensively birded the Danube Backwaters by kayak. Now, I have mixed feelings: cautious and by experience mistrustful, but happy. My own trip was not an intensive birding experience, and August is clearly not the most productive month. I chalked up 132 species in a pretty relaxed eight days, during which birds shared the agenda with culture. What has changed in the meantime? eBird bar chart. #2 2 Baranda fish farm.

My agenda is to help to make the Ross Sea an international marine protected area. What experience do I have to confirm my qualifications? Also, for quarter of a century I have been canoeing the Danube backwaters inside Belgrade and collecting data about birds (most of it I have entered into the eBird). Vote for me!
