The topic was the concept of humans as predators, or hunters, or really, eaters of meat, and I was discussing the many ways in which people misconceived this notion. Buffalo, even the big giant extinct ones that previously roamed Africa, are in some ways easier, though with drawbacks. Eland are pretty darn hard to hunt.

They are also hunted.

There are over 5,000 species of frogs in existence (5,858 at the time the book was written, the exact number changes as research dictates re-arrangements of taxonomy and new species are discovered). There’s the Goliath frog from South Africa—up to one foot in length and over 6 pounds in weight.
