While the animal rights community has lost its biggest advocate, we can be grateful that his words will live on to inspire countless others to give animals the moral respect they are due. Indeed, CAF is one of the few granting agencies that funds academic and artistic projects designed to raise public awareness about concern for animals.

Though the health argument isn't ironclad and I wouldn't want to make it the center of my advocacy, I have to remember who the messenger is here and what the context is. My dogs eat vegan dog food. They don't have collars made from animals.

Should is not a Solution

I will address two of them in the new year, namely, “Is hunting moral at all?” I wonder instead if this is actually about the difference between advocacy and action, and about the way things ‘should’ be. Should lends itself to advocacy, a crucial aspect of conservation.
