In a brief tour of a particular biotech research company, I was taken to the animal lab. They did not experiment on primates (I asked!), It reminded me of an adoption poster at the animal shelter. But when I got closer, I read, "Animal research opens minds." It wasn't a full-fledged tour, but disturbing nonetheless.

Around 12 million animals are used each year in the European Union (EU) for research purposes. This became clear from a report addressed at the European Parliament (EP) session on May 5–7, which seeks to vote on a directive concerning animal research. From the Epoch Times. Former Baywatch star and model Pamela Anderson has accused one of India's most prestigious research centres of animal cruelty, urging it to retire decades-old test monkeys and adopt humane practices. Sounds like she watched a harsh video.
