And Adoption Awareness Month. I am a vegan who has adopted a diabetic greyhound who eats vegan food ( Natural Balance ), and who is adopting a boy from Russia. Not everyone is able to adopt for financial reasons (or have a child for biological reasons), and I don't think it's unethical to desire and create a biological child.

Abby, I too get very upset by stories and images of what occurs every second of every day to nonhumans and humans alike. The purpose of my life is to be the best human being I can be and to leave this planet knowing I did what I could to make it a better place. Can you please share your spiritual beliefs or coping mechanisms?

I have mixed feelings about TNR. “Why can’t the kittens be adopted,” I asked in her comments section. Unfortunately the worst predator of nature is the human being…we selfishly take the land of the animals and give them nothing in return and that is all over the world.
