Best Bird of the Weekend (Second of July 2019)

The return of the Old Man

Such an intimate encounter with one of the world’s rarest birds was a memorable experience. On a visit in October 2022, I found ibises feeding with cattle in scruffy roadside paddocks adjacent to the marismas ( photographs below ). Bald Ibises are curious birds, for they are happy breeding in close proximity to man.
