The first Pied Oystercatcher chicks of 2018

One pair of Pied Oystercatchers nest just north of the rocks on Cable Beach and have to deal with the four-wheel drive vehicles and camels on the beach, but as soon as the eggs have hatched out they move the family approximately two kilometres further north through the dune system.

Birding the Dampier Downs Road

Travelling slowly along the road in recent weeks we have been able to add a few new birds to the 2018 year list and they include the Pied Honeyeater , Black Honeyeater and Varied Lorikeet. Along the track we noticed a variety of prints including birds, marsupials and more recently wild camels. Grevillea refracta-bird attracting.
