One of my favorite bird species living by my house is the Juniper Titmouse. Although the Juniper Titmouse is not officially a threatened species, its numbers have been declining due to loss of habitat. But a Bewick’s Wren did build a nest, which it promptly abandoned before laying any eggs. Others had more luck.

Urban birds, urban birding… is there a future?

I have observed this species many times (my eBird says 28 times this year alone) and never had one landing near me. and after the road construction (June 2018). Nowadays, it has a feeling of an abandoned construction site. This is clearly one of its first flights – it may have even taken the first flight today!
