To the Editor: I wish that I could better understand the recent trend of anthropomorphizing dogs. Our dogs have a better standard of living than millions of people in other parts of the world. I had two dogs growing up, and I remember their being thrilled with a dirty old tennis ball or a dip in the somewhat murky town pond.

The Amazing Exploding Dove Meets Montana

My ears perk up with every new song, my tail wags (ok, not literally, but darn close) every time I see or hear about a newly-returned migrant. . A 2006 study found no evidence thus far that the Eurasian Collared-dove was out-aggressing Mourning Doves , though, and our other large native Columbiforme is gone through no fault of the new kid.
