A New York Times story that ran in 2001 about a homeless dog wandering around a suburban part of New York City, struck a chord with me. They offered him hand-outs and cared enough about him, not to call Animal Control and risk having him picked up and sent to a shelter where his fate would be doomed. See the trailer: [link].

Later, Socks was “voted out of office” because he didn’t get along with the White House dog, Buddy. First Dog from 1989-1993): George H.W. In 1989 Millie had six puppies, two of which also became White House dogs!
