Moorcroft Manor, a Great Place to Lay a Birding Head Down

Groups of Cape Turtle Doves feeding on the grass were occasionally joined by a nervous and much larger Rameron Pigeon, and Southern Grey-headed Sparrows and a single Bokmakierie hoped around as well. In the case of some of the weavers, like the Southern Red Bishop , the alternation was contained within a single species.

Nice, Nice Birding in Narita

Every species I mentioned appeared often throughout the day, but diversity improved considerably as we headed towards Naritasan Temple by way of the famed irrigation channel. This terrific waterway, flanked with paths and studded with stepping stone bridges, is home to a lot of Eastern Spot-billed Ducks and Eurasian Teals.
