Next door to my hometown, the Gulf Breeze Zoo occupies 50 acres near the Santa Rosa Sound. The first time I visited the 30 acre enclosure, I walked the raised boardwalk over the space with eyes wide. Just beyond a fence, a pair of rhino adults and one baby munched contentedly on hay. Had they merely hatched?

Busch Gardens Welcomes New Baby Cheetah

The new cub was born at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens to a mother who wasn’t able to care for him. When zoo keepers saw that the baby was not eating and having trouble gaining weight, they made the decision to hand-raise him. It was on the SSP and Jacksonville Zoo’s advice that the new baby was brought to Busch Gardens.
