One day while I was volunteering I met a little pit bull puppy who was recovering from a spaying. The puppy seemed too thin to me so I asked about her story. All eight of the puppies were in foster care. Very sweet and gentle animal (I have a soft spot for pits.and pugs!)

Except for the poor pit bulls, street dogs are about the most vilified canines on the planet. Poor countries with lots of trash on the streets and no spay/neuter clinics definitely have more street dogs. You prevent that dog from producing puppies, and those puppies from producing puppies, and on and on for centuries maybe.
