Are we pinning people down and force-feeding them vegan burritos? According to Parker, here are the threats: the ALF, the ELF, SHAC, PeTA and the oddest member of the group, the HSUS. I prefer "anti-unnecessary slaughter of sentient nonhumans" and it has nothing to do with perceived modernity. The HSUS isn't even anti-hunting !

I say "if you know someone" because this isn't a book I'd recommend to vegans for their vegan education efforts. The vegans I know would probably find it a bit maddening, and here's why: We aren't sure whether Foer is a vegan. He always refers to himself and his wife and his child as "vegetarian."
