The International Fund for Animal Welfare ( IFAW ), is a non-profit organization working to save animals in crisis worldwide, to help protect our oceans’ whale population. The species is also susceptible to the effects of commercial exploitation of marine benthic organisms and shellfish, and is threatened by drowning in fishing nets.
