How many people know this about the Animal Welfare Act? The only cool thing is that Gene Bauer's views on the meat industry are so similar to those expressed on this blog a few weeks ago. Humane treatment runs counter to the entire industry when the point is to make money by processing these animals as fast as possible.

More Humane Method of Killing Chickens?

I realize that the most humane method of treating chickens is to not kill them for food.BUT, as long as there is still a demand for their meat, PETA is advocating "Controlled-Atmosphere Killing" as an improvement over current methods of electric immobilization. For some people, it is inhumane to eat meat in any situation, no matter how well the animal is treated prior to and during slaughter. Animals are raw materials to process for product.
