The Arkansas state legislature recently adopted a law that will expand veterinary technician specialists’ (VTS) scope of practice. Another bill still under consideration would dilute the educational background required for veterinary technicians to qualify for licensure.

There simply is no dispute in the medical community that human breast milk is the best food a human infant can be fed. As the Newsweek story indicates, 38 states have passed laws giving women the right to breastfeed in any public or private place she’d otherwise be allowed to be. The legislators in these 12 states ought to be ashamed.
