Portland judge said Wednesday the Northwest states can kill hungry sea lions on the Columbia River. Judge Michael Mosman’s ruling means Washington, Oregon and Idaho can shoot or remove up to 85 sea lions next year. Mosman denied an attempt by the Humane Society of the United States to stop the killings. Let's pick the sea lions!

Sorry, another Washington State story. Sea lions are killed here for eating salmon. Tags: State of Washington salmon Stupid sea lions dams endangered species. About 60 have already been identified as nuisance animals with the possibility of future trapping and euthanization. It really makes me angry.

In the Washington metro area, we have a BIG deer problem. Let's deconstruct: What we have here is the myth that killing animals in the wild and then eating them is somehow a compassionate act. Whether or not someone appreciates the taste of my flesh after they have killed me doesn't matter to me.
