I was lucky to visit India several times, but as a keen birder I carried along only a bird book, and even upgraded it to a new edition between the trips. On that first trip, I even saw some of the last 500 (Asiatic) Lions ! Despite depicting 540 species/56 families, it is a lightweight book of 173 pages, easy to pack and carry.
