Wildlife rehabilitators are a multi-tasking lot. Erin Smithies-Baker’s colleague Lisa Kelly took in two box turtles a woman had kept for years, feeding them nothing but spaghetti and meatballs. People walk in and hand you a box, which you know will contain the wildlife and some bizarre food item. He had a big heart!”.
