The lake is also home to the Saw-shelled Turtle, which is easy to see from the shore. Saw-shelled Turtle ( Myuchelys latisternum ) My pessimism about the place was short-lived, however. And one final treat was a Musky Rat-kangaroo , the smallest member of the macropod (kangaroo and wallaby) suborder, no bigger than a guinea-pig.
