I therefore decided to counter this month’s heinous wood-warbler attack on my retina by choosing the good old trusty House Sparrow as the topic of my May post. The last aspect is something I will elaborate on further below, but not before showing off a prime fine male House Sparrow, unethically photographed at its nest site.

Like if you feel that seeing a friendly chattering House Sparrow was a good bird, then it indeed was. Sandy was a fifty-something guy who had immigrated to the Falls from Campobasso, Italy. These are basically groups of drab, sneaky little birds that almost seem invisible as they hasten their way through the lower levels of the forest.

Europe… with such low herp diversity the locals split any sub-population of a species that occurs on either the Iberian Peninsula or Italy as a new species just to make them feel better out themselves, naturally is the continent that rose to the top of my trip list. Either that or having family friends in Germany. I was not lead astray.
