We have a request, and it's an issue I've written about a handful of times but never had this particular question answered by readers: How do you talk with your vet--who is against feeding your dog vegan food--about your choice to do so? I'm fortunate to have a regular (non-specialist) vet who has no problem at all with a vegan diet for dogs.

I alerted my regular (non-specialist) vet of this and though he didn't treat me like a crazy person, he didn't do any research, either. Tags: Current Affairs Greyhound Matters. Other times, nine was too much and Violet would come close to crashing. He just figures I know what I'm doing. I just hope I don't have to find out.

Just in case you were wondering what an 85-lb red fawn greyhound looks like from the back with a couple dozen acupuncture needles in him. And of course, I will use the meetings as an opportunity for vegan outreach. And yes, that's Violet Rays taking up most of his acupuncture bed at the homeopath's office.) I've had those. been there.

Brief commentary follows this e-mail I received regarding greyhounds, animal rights and Ireland. Dear ARAN Members, I remember as a young child throwing stones and sticks at a terrified greyhound that slept in a back shed a few blocks from where I live. He would not return for many hours.

Because we planned to adopt I had been researching eco-friendly, vegan nursery items but had yet to purchase a thing. I chose a cow for Sky's first stuffed animal, and I hope that she will grow up to honor and respect the lives of cows the same way she will honor and respect the lives of greyhounds.
