One final surprise was a Green Ringtail , an endemic possum. Lake Eacham is a crater lake that was once home to an endemic fish, but that species is gone from the lake due to introduced (but native) fishes (the species survies thanks to fish fanciers collecting them, however). They are usually pretty hard to see.
