Considering the ten most recent additions before this March averaged six months apart getting six new species in eight months is mind-blowing. Way back in March we were in the midst of a global pandemic and Queens was the epicenter of the epicenter that was New York City. A new warbler for Queens? Two-for-two!

What Will My Next Ten Birds in Queens Be?

This Virginia’s Warbler was my most unexpected new bird in Queens. We had a family picnic at Fort Tilden less than two weeks after my last set of predictions and a single Purple Martin was flying low over the fields with Barn Swallows and Tree Swallows. The last of the regularly expected owls in Queens. Number 300 in Queens!

2012 160
