Apparently, this is part of a broader trend – it has also been observed in Taiwan ( source ). And indeed, the Tel Aviv McDonald’s does not sell any Hoopoe Burgers. Family ties are important. The Black-winged Kite has (at least in my impression) become more frequent in Shanghai in the past few years.
