Now, something that caught my fancy, that was stated by the reactionist/YouTube personality, was that this ape, this early hominid if you would, which died out just prior to the arrival of humans or because of the arrival of humans.

Joking aside, the instant viral popularity of this video seems to me to be speaking to some deep-rooted fears in the human psyche. After all, in those medically benighted days, both events were likely to come figuratively out of the blue, apparently dictated by the heavens — so why not literally?
