This is Los Angeles’s premier animal-related fundraising event benefiting the following non-profit rescue organizations: The Rescue Train, Best Friends Animal Society, Animal Alliance, A Dog’s Life Rescue, Stray Cat Alliance, Four-Legged Friends Foundation, and Molly’s Mutts & Meows. This means less dogs and cats can be saved.

My first intake was … a cat-caught Northern Mockingbird. The bird was stripped of feathers and so badly battered that euthanasia was probable. It’s the bane of many rehabbers that they simply can’t get through to cat owners on this critical issue of free-roaming pets.
