Hooded Crow in Staten Island, New York

.* After all, Hooded Crows are a bird of eastern and northern Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East and are not known as long distance migrants. My last encounter with a Hooded Crow was in May of 2009 in the Tien Shan Mountains of Kazakhstan. But the more I thought about it the more I wanted to see a Hooded Crow again.

Russia Bans Canadian Seal Imports!

(The other two neighbors that banned them are Kazakhstan and Belarus). Russia does have its own seal hunt, but apparently they banned killings of animals under one year old. I don't see what they get out of it, unless they want to impress Europe, which has already banned seal products.
