Most of it comes from Singapore, Ethiopia and Burma. I’ll either be flying over thousands of Canvasback s or standing in a cornfield surrounded by hoards of native sparrows or whirling flocks of Eastern Bluebirds and American Pipits. Nyjer (also known as Niger and Thistle) is not grown in the US, though it is possible.

Plocepasser – the Sparrow-Weavers The localized Donaldson-Smith’s Sparrow-Weaver is found in arid woodlands of the Somali-Maasai biome. This group of 4 species (as well as all the remaining “weavers” that are covered below) are not even placed in the weaver family ( Ploceidae ) but in Passeridae – the Old World Sparrow family.
