Earlier this year, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals announced that it will offer a $1 million X Prize for the creation of affordable, humane, and "commercially viable" test-tube meat by 2012. These harvested cells are taken from an animal, such as a pig, and placed in a "nutrient-rich medium" that mimics blood.

It seems that these people, who purport to claim to care so much about animals, are completely ignorant of the existence of any animal life beyond horses, cows, pigs, chickens and turkeys. As you can see here , PETA does not even address these issues at all, while portraying themselves as indeed giving a damn.

This should come as no surprise as he is on the board of Farm Forward -along with John Mackey and Bruce Friedrich-the latter of whom figures prominently in the book as does his employer, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. In all fairness, most people's only reference is PETA.
