Whooping Cranes Shot and Killed in Kentucky

Fish and Wildlife Service has announced the death of two Whooping Cranes in Hopkins County, Kentucky. Authorities said the deaths occurred in November but delayed the announcement in order to conduct an investigation and assemble a reward for information. What thrill there is in murdering an endangered species, I’ll never know.).

Dead Sea Lions in Puget Sound - Again

KING-TV reports that both the state Department of Fish and Wildlife and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration are investigating the deaths. Investigators say they do not know who is responsible. KING says one of the Nisqually casualties was a Steller sea lion, protected under the Endangered Species Act.
