Kelly wondered whether the term "vegan" is " worth fighting for " given the latest trend of seemingly oxymoronish (waiting for that one to hit Webster's) terminology from the mouths of people who want to find a way to use animals, yet make it appear that they're not. Is vegan a diet ? Before 6pm, he doesn't eat animals.

If a genetically engineered animal’s legs periodically fell off, would not its legs be more like a product of an animal (analogous to eggs) than a part of the animal? Would the blood be analogous to milk or eggs? KBJ: Agreed.

You will, therefore, agree with Martin about moral vegetarianism but not about Christianity. Another reason is moral. One is health.

Now, I don't want to do anything extreme, like go vegan. Veganism is too fringe for me, and I'm pretty sure you have to be a Communist, or at least a Socialist, to be a vegan. And I don't think vegans believe in God, and I don't trust anyone who doesn't believe in God. I mean, where do they get their morals from?

I've been out of every loop I used to be in because my work outside of veganism and animal rights came a-calling in a most critical way. I say "if you know someone" because this isn't a book I'd recommend to vegans for their vegan education efforts. The vegans I know would probably find it a bit maddening, and here's why: We aren't sure whether Foer is a vegan. Tags: Activism Books Ethics Language. Not great, but good. He never says he is.
