I agree with eBird that the Asian Glossy Starling is “fierce-looking” Appropriately, it is an invasive species in places such as Taiwan, where some papers recommend reducing the population. The associated bird species seek out drongos, apparently relying upon them heavily for protection.

They bred on a number of islands near Japan and Taiwan, and ranged widely and abundantly from the Aleutian Islands south through California. Not only were they a common bird, they were a common bird nearshore; indigenous peoples hunted them up and down the coast. It was thought of as a wonder-chemical, with no ill effects.

Fortunately for the buntings, they seem to detect most cuckoo eggs smuggled in (75% in one study). A study found that for Plain Prinia , egg characteristics in a mainland China location with many cuckoos make it much easier to spot cuckoo eggs than in a Taiwan location with few cuckoos ( source ).
