The Latin name Calliope calliope sounds like a bit of an overkill to me (no “so nice they named it twice” for me), but the reference to “Calliope, fine-voiced chief of the Muses, who presided over eloquence and heroic poetry” (HBW) is well deserved given the nice and rather jazzy song of the bird.
