In Costa Rica, they can take the form of everything from toucans (think crows with giant shark inspired beaks) to herons and monkeys. If Wood Thrush hasn’t been documented as Cane Toad prey, it can now be added to the list. The rails did indeed come to investigate but came up empty-beaked.
