Philippe Pibarot has been studying seal heart valves to see if they might be a better transplant option for humans than those from cows or pigs, believing they may be more durable than the other animal tissue. The research at Laval University is still in the earliest stages.

Most researchers agree that modern-day birds are the only living members of the Dinosauria clade. The Ash-throated Flycatchers ( Myiarchus cinerascens ) pictured below start their nest base with dry cow or horse dung. The cup is made up of dry grasses, rootlets, and weed stems, then lined with finer grasses, hair and fur.
