If you go to Culebra you will be astounded at the sheer number of outdoor cats and chickens. I have never been anywhere with so many cats in my life. Sea turtles can be seen from the beach or while snorkling at Tamarindo Beach, especially if you go early in the morning. Of herons and egrets I only saw two species.
