I have not heard any reports of Monk Parakeets at bird feeders in New York City, or in New Jersey, where they have a colony in Edgewater, Bergen County.) The question is why these natives of rural areas in southern South America (east of the Andes) have been so spectacularly successful in establishing their colonies.
