Black-winged Lovebird Another endemic now shared with Eritrea, this cute little parrot is not uncommon in forest edges and woodlands, even occurring in towns and cities. Flocks of cheerful birds frequent caves and cliffs where they breed. Addis Ababa is a reliable stake-out! This image was taken in Lalibela.

Dreaming of Congo rainforest: Gabon, Republic of the Congo and the Central African Republic

Other primates include Chimpanzee and Putty-nosed Monkey, several duiker antelope species, etc. There are also some habituated groups of Lowland Gorillas, and over 200-strong habituated troop of Agile Mangabey monkeys. Perched on the banks of the Sangha River, Sanhga Lodge (above) is simple yet idyllic.
