A paper on breeding of the species was actually researched right here at Wawushan. Efficient use of the limited resource parrotbill nests, I guess. Indeed, positive assortative mating, based on culmen length, tarsus length, and body mass, was found across breeding pairs. Unfortunately, their overall nesting success was only 18%.
