Week 21: Our last week in Scotland

I found this little grouping of Guillemots, with parents, babies and even an egg. What started as a small group of birds, with the hope they would make it on their own, is now a very strong breeding population. Tomorrow morning we will head on down to England, and the township of Hull, to visit the Spurn Wildlife Reserve.

Since 1984 it has been planted with native bush and pests were controlled, and is now used as a wildlife reserve. At night we had planned to go out looking for Blue Penguins , around 600 of which make the island their breeding home. I’ll work on that. Red-crowned Parakeet foraging near a New Zealand Fur Seal.
