The breeding program has been a great success. A giraffe’s gestation period is 15 months, and the mother and baby will be kept out of view for the first three months so they can be watched closely. That’s a big baby! Both mother and baby will join the other animals on the Serengeti Plain in about three months.

The duo will join the other animals on the Serengeti Plain in a few months. The term “reticulated” refers to the giraffe’s net-like pattern of spots.
