Another cavity nesting species that breeds in Lassen Volcanic National Park is the Brown Creeper ( Certhia americana ). Great Horned Owls ( Bubo viginianus ) are a favorite of mine and I have been fortunate to observe a pair of these magnificent raptors raise their young in a nearby natural cavity in a huge oak tree.
