Pulau Ubin is a small island off the north-east coast of Singapore that is easily reached by a small boat from the Changi Point Ferry Terminal. There are plenty of lookouts and shelters, but there is no drinking water available at the toilet facilities, so you need to carry plenty of water. Shorebirds on Pulau Sekudu.

The Central Catchment Nature Reserve in Singapore is a huge area that covers over 2,000 hectares of forest. As with many of the nature reserves in Singapore they do tend to be busier on Sundays and also close to the car-parks, but beyond that you can walk alone in the forest.
