I had such a good time exploring the zone that I went back again the following week, something I rarely do, given that I have so many quality birding sites to choose from in my region. This sort of biozone mixing can create a tremendous richness of species. Each of these habitats attracts its own group of species.

April, while not as exciting a migratory month as May is in the northeastern United States, is still a great time of year to see migrating birds. In the New York City area the number and variety of sparrows a birder can see in mid-April is astounding. They are often flighty and difficult to approach.
