That’s an old wives’ tale that says bird won’t take care of a baby bird with a human smell on it–not true at all. If you cannot find the nest or it’s too destroyed, do not try and raise a chick this young. Above are Canada Goose goslings. Never raise a wild goose or duckling yourself.

While we’re used to declarations that our pet parrots “love” us just as we love them, and they can be quite demonstrative in showing their affection, the evidence is thinner for wild birds. Needless to say, this makes them quite pleasant to raise. I chalked it up to the fact that the three had been hand-raised from a young age.
