The rooms are floating in a pond and the pond provides a home for a Eurasian Beaver family. Just across the bridge, some kind climate change people had invested a lot of money in a climate forest which to me looked like beaver food. The beavers agreed. Skeins of Greylag Geese completed the picture.

Yellow-headed Blackbirds, Red-winged Blackbirds, Brewers Blackbirds, Marsh Wrens , And Common Yellowthroats were incredibly plentiful. In addition to the birds, we saw Mule Deer, Beaver, Muskrat , and Mink. Then, the icing on the cake came, when one actually landed right in front of me! Now that is a first.

I saw a beaver though! The beaver was way over on the other side of the valley we were looking down at. Other than the beaver there wasn’t much to see. A couple of Red-winged Blackbirds , some Common Ravens , a flyover Pileated Woodpecker. It was a long two-plus hours. That was nice.
