Africa’s Barbets

This image was taken in Nsuta Forest, Ghana. Finally the most northern population ranges are found in coastal forests of northern Tanzania and Kenya. Well, the answer is that the moniker Red-headed Barbet was first given to the South American species that still bears and thus it had precedence to retain the name.
